Below are some of the most frequently asked questions. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions not covered below.

Plan your outfits at least a week in advance—don’t wait ‘til the last day. You want to wake up feeling relaxed and prepared. Feel free to text me photos of your wardrobe if you’re having a hard time choosing! I’m happy to help.

Prepare your kids with laid-back, low-key references to let them know what’s happening. Tell them you will be “hanging out with our friend Claire on Saturday!” or “going to take a forest walk today!” and keep things fun, lighthearted, and casual. Kids are great when they are just themselves, the smiles are more natural too.

Bring along a bag for bits and pieces. It is great to bring water and snacks along for the kids, but a good idea to have a bag to have all the things together while we shoot. This includes somewhere to keep cell phones, car keys etc, as having these in pockets is not ideal.

Dress what you feel comfortable in. You don’t need to wear matching clothes. Instead, wear colors in a complimentary color palette, such as earth tones and neutrals. Avoid bright colours and shirts with bold branding on. Short dresses might be a challenge when we do any seated photos, so keep that in mind. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes you can move in. If your dress gets suddenly too short when you bend over, or your pants are too tight to sit down in, opt for more breathable pieces. Be prepared to move! Opt for accessories! Hats, chunky scarves, beautiful flowing dresses and skirts—these create visual interest and movement in your photos.

Post shoot, the selection and editing process usually takes about 3 weeks, after which we will send you a link to download your images as well as an online gallery to share with family or friends.

We usually provide 50-60 high resolution images, family size dependant.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. In all the years we have been photographing, almost every family or person says this, so you are not alone! We do keep our shoots natural and relaxed, feel free to do as you do and chat away to each other. Having said that, we will guide you, for eg: “take a walk over there, go and sit on that log together” etc. We chat, ask questions and all the while looking for that natural look, smile or hug. With our years of experience, we know how to combine good composition and great light, getting you everyone looking their best.
